ABOUT ROGER

A Legacy of Service: For nearly 30 years, Roger has been a cornerstone of the LaFayette First family and the broader community. While much of his ministry was dedicated to shaping the lives of students, he recently transitioned into the role of Ministries Pastor. In this capacity, he provides vital administrative leadership alongside our Lead Pastor while continuing to lead our congregation in worship and mission work.

Family & Home: Roger’s journey with his wife, Kathy, began at the University of Georgia’s Baptist Student Union (Go Dawgs!). Their very first date was to a UGA basketball game—a sign of things to come for Kathy. Over the years, she has “endured” countless games, eventually becoming so well-versed in the sport that she now surprises her students with her knowledge of Roger’s favorite team, the Duke Blue Devils.

Married since June 1981, Roger and Kathy have built a beautiful family. They are the proud parents of two daughters and sons-in-law: Abbie and Blake Austin, and Sara and Will Clark. They are also the doting grandparents of Carter & Hadley and Wyatt, Marjorie, & Davis.

We recently celebrated 29 years of Roger and Kathy’s ministry at LaFayette First, and we remain deeply grateful for their tireless dedication to Kingdom work in our community.
