ABOUT ROGER

Roger has been working with students for over 30 years. His love for students keeps him continually reinventing himself to stay relevant to their needs and struggles. In this world where students feel unloved, his passion is to draw students into the church to hear about God’s love for them.

Roger met his wife Kathy at the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!) at the Baptist Student Union. Their first date was to a UGA basketball game, and she has had to endure basketball from that day forward. Little did she know that she would learn so much about basketball over the coming years even to amaze some of her students by her knowledge of Duke basketball (Roger’s favorite team). The two married in June of 1981. They have two daughters and two sons-in-law, Abbie & Blake Austin and Sara & Will Clark. Also, they have three grandchildren, Carter and Hadley Austin & Wyatt Clark.

Roger & Kathy recently celebrated 25 years of Ministry at LaFayette First and we are so thankful for their continued contributions to kingdom work here.
