The Deacon Ministry at LaFayette First

At LaFayette First, our Deacon Ministry is anchored in servant leadership. Our primary priority is to follow the Biblical mandate to serve Christ, support our pastoral staff, and care for our church family.

Biblical Qualifications

In alignment with Scripture, we hold our leadership to the high spiritual and moral standards outlined in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. We seek deacons who are:

Worthy of Respect: Individuals of high integrity, sincerity, and sound judgment.
Grounded in Truth: Deeply committed to holding out the truths of the Christian faith with a clear conscience.
Blameless in Character: Disciplined in their personal habits and faithful in their family life.
Servant-Hearted: Tested and proven in their devotion to Christ and the local church.

Term of Service

Deacons at LaFayette First serve an active 3-year term, followed by a 1-year hiatus before becoming eligible for the re-nomination process. This rotation ensures healthy, sustainable leadership for our congregation.
