The Christmas season reminds us that heaven came down when Jesus, our Messiah, was born. Isaiah prophesied 700 years before Christ's birth that a child would be born who would be called Wonderful Counselor, among other names. Jesus is both fully human and fully divine - the God-man who came as an all-powerful God in the form of a powerless baby. We need a Messiah because we are lost without Him, and religion or church attendance alone isn't enough. As our Wonderful Counselor, Jesus provides both supernatural power to work miracles and trusted wisdom to guide us daily. Through the Holy Spirit, we have constant access to His guidance and teaching. Jesus is sufficient for every need we have, and we don't need to go anywhere else for help.
