In the Beginning, God
Genesis, meaning 'beginning,' reveals God as the self-existent creator who transcends all yet desires personal relationship with humanity. The book showcases God's perfect design, declaring His creation 'good' seven times. When humans fell by questioning and rejecting this design, God immediately provided a path to redemption. From the very first sin, God implemented His rescue plan, foreshadowing Christ's sacrifice through animal skins and promising a 'wounded victor' who would ultimately defeat evil. Genesis establishes foundational truths about God's character, His intentional design, and His unwavering commitment to redeem fallen humanity.
