At 130 years old, Jacob had learned that putting God first was the foundation for everything else in life. Before rushing to reunite with his son Joseph in Egypt, Jacob stopped at Beersheba to worship and offer sacrifices to God. This wasn't religious routine but wisdom gained through decades of walking with God. Jacob's example teaches us that our relationship with God deserves the front seat in our lives, not as an afterthought but as our first priority. When we make God our priority, we open ourselves to experience His intimate love, constant presence, and eternal promises. The same God who promised to go with Jacob wherever he went is the same God who offers us eternal life through Jesus Christ.
