How to Pray, Part 2

The human heart is deceitful and incapable of fixing itself, which is exactly why Jesus gave us a model for prayer. In Matthew 6, He addresses three areas every believer wrestles with: forgiveness, temptation, and fasting. Forgiving others is not optional. Jesus makes clear that the posture of our heart toward those who have wronged us directly reflects our posture before God. Resisting temptation requires daily dependence on Christ, not personal willpower. Fasting is a periodic practice that trains the heart to want God more than comfort or appetite. All of it points to the same invitation: come to Jesus as you are, depend on Him fully, and let Him do what only He can do.
