Day 4: Humility and the Gospel
Devotional: Humility is not just about putting others’ needs before our own; it is also about prioritizing the Gospel. Paul chose to forego his rights as an apostle to ensure that nothing would hinder the spread of the Gospel. This act of self-sacrifice is a powerful reminder that the Gospel should be our top priority. Are we willing to give up our rights, our time, and our resources for the sake of the Gospel? Are we willing to put the needs of others before our own to ensure that they hear the Good News? Today, let’s commit to prioritizing the Gospel in all we do. Let’s find ways to share the Good News with others, even if it means sacrificing our own comfort and convenience.
Verse: Although I am free from all and not anyone’s slave, I have made myself a slave to everyone, in order to win more people.
Christian Standard Bible (Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers, 2020), 1 Co 9:19.
Question: Are you willing to give up your rights, your time, and your resources for the sake of the Gospel?
Sermon Quote: “Is the gospel going out worth enough to you that you’d be willing to give up some of your time or your schedule, perhaps even your money?”
Prayer: Lord, help me to prioritize the Gospel in all I do. Give me the strength to put the needs of others before my own and to share the Good News with them, even if it means sacrificing my own comfort and convenience. Amen.
